Spring '04: Pete maintains his 4.0 GPA, Yumi and i jet-set between LA & riverside with weddings galore on our agenda--Mel
& Wen's, Brigett & Steven's, Ate Len's & Steven S., Ingrid & Wendell's... phew!
Summer trip to asia
(July 14-Sept. 6):
we marathon-ed thru thailand and philippines, this past summer. For the first two weeks: we helped
our church with a mission project in Chiang Mai, Thailand, then we spent a week recup-ing (meaning hitting the shops and the
food stalls!!!) in bangkok, and then a week in manila--so pete, yumi and kimee could see AUP, Taal, and shop... then we went
to Iloilo for about two an a half weeks -- we spent a turbulent weekend in boracay, since aug. is rainy season. and then our
tour group split... Kim flew home to LA, pete went back to bangkok to meet john and dan, then i stayed in manila to meet up
with steph, ronald and gladys for a couple more days. We met up with peter for another week in bangkok so Yumi could have
her second birthday in the city were she was made....
Fall-04: Home again! Home again! seems like there's always a
project or trip calling us away from our normal routine life. Pete starts student teaching, arni crams for CSET teacher's
exam, and Yumi get more and MORE verbal.... she now has 5-6 word sentences and is a walking karaoke machine... she also is
starting her imaginary play which is quite fun... pete and i are both happy to switch between sharks and roaring tigers every
few days.
We did get to meet some "mommy-n-babe" friends too: Lilian & Alexis, Gina & Beany, Suzi & Spenser,
just t name a few.
We now have 2 Bangkokians under our unofficial wing-- Dinu & Kidee, both pre-dent students
here at La Sierra.
This year Peter didn't have to dream of a white Christmas... we spent our holidays in Cranbrook,
B.C. & Spruce Grove, Alberta (about 20 min. out of Edmunton). Yumi's first reaction to the snow? Well, she licked
it and said, "Hmmm! Yummie snow mama! I Like It!" Making snow angels, tobagonning & tramping around in the powdery white
snow with Grampa Henry, Nana & cousins Katie and Damon were definately highlights of this yearend trip.
